For our passenger pilots who would like to fly online in a live air traffic environment Orange Line has a few procedures to follow to ensure the correct set up of callsigns (to distinguish from the freight and passenger division) and to help advertise our company for any pilots interested in joining our company!
Your VATSIM callsign should be OLA followed by the flight number given in your manifest. (This doesn't necessarily have to match in your FSpassengers After flight report used for PIREPs but it would be handy if it did).
For your comments section, be sure to include:
Callsign: OLA=Orange Line Airways (Phonetic callsigns should always be spoken as Orange Line followed by your flight number, regardless of division.) FLT # XXX Souls Aboard (Number of passengers plus your crewmen) And if it can fit in the comments section add flying for Orange Line VA
Passenger division pilots should always file IFR plans for insurance reasons, however the small charter passengers are excempt from this rule. However, be sure to file a flight plan, even if your using VFR. This will help to advertise our VA and hopefully help us to grow by bringing us more pilots!
